1. Acceptance
These Terms govern your use of carrtalks.com and any consulting or inspection services provided by CarrTalks (Michael Avalos, sole proprietor, Elwin, Illinois). If you do not agree, please do not use the site or services.
2. Scope of services
CarrTalks provides independent automotive advisory services including pre-purchase inspections, title and history audits, negotiation coaching, and buyer education. We are not a dealership, broker, lender, or repair facility. Our findings are recommendations, not guarantees.
3. Inspection limitations
Pre-purchase inspections are visual and diagnostic in nature, performed at the seller's location without disassembly. We cannot detect hidden mechanical issues that require teardown, fluid analysis, or future failures. Reports represent the vehicle's observable condition at the time of inspection only.
4. Fees and payment
Fees are confirmed in writing before any service begins. Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed. Travel surcharges may apply outside our standard service area.
5. Cancellation
Appointments cancelled with at least 24 hours' notice incur no fee. Same-day cancellations may be billed at 50% of the agreed fee.
6. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Illinois law, CarrTalks' aggregate liability for any claim arising from a service is limited to the fee paid for that specific service. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to subsequent mechanical failure, depreciation, or loss of resale value.
7. Intellectual property
All website content, reports, checklists, and educational materials are © CarrTalks. Personal use is permitted; redistribution or commercial reuse requires written permission.
8. Third-party links
The site may link to third-party resources for buyer reference. We do not control or endorse third-party content and are not responsible for its accuracy.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Macon County, Illinois.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material updates are flagged on this page.
